Prep & Pastry Coming

Amelia Grey's Café, 3073 N. Campbell Ave., is scheduled to reopen by January as Prep & Pastry. The owners have linked with local purveyors such as Native Seeds/SEARCH, Maya Tea Co. and Exo coffee roasters to bring "a level of service and quality of food that we feel has been overlooked, especially for breakfast and lunch," a news release said. " Prep & Pastry will feature breakfast and lunch menus, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily. The restaurant will also offer catering, and a tea service from 2 to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Reservations are required for the tea service.

Clark Opens the Kitchen

Agustín Kitchen has reopened with a new menu by executive Chef Ryan Clark. I had the pleasure of sampling some of the menu and drinks, and Clark is doing exciting things. The restaurant is offering a Christmas Eve dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. that includes roasted prime rib, Yorkshire pudding, golden mashed potatoes and other items. On New Year's Eve, the five-course prix fixe menu includes, oysters, lobster, New York steak and a Champagne toast. Agustín Kitchen is at 100 S. Avenida del Convento in Mercado San Agustín. Update: New Locations

Mama's Hawaiian BBQ has opened its third location at 8300 N. Thornydale Road, beating the goal of a mid-January opening. Check out the menu at mamashawaiianbbq.com.

Vero Amore, known for its Neapolitan pizza and Italian comfort food, has expanded. The restaurant in Plaza Palomino, 2920 N. Swan Road, has added more seating both inside and outside, a new pizza bar, a cooler for beer kegs and wine, and a room for private parties. Get Corked for the Holidays

Jonathan's Cork, 6320 E.
