BrushFire BBQ's eastside location, at 7080 E. 22nd St. is remodeling a meeting room to add an ice cream shop. It's supposed to be open within a couple of months. East Side Gets Its Meat
Great news for those of you living east of Swan Road, and even better news for that big carne asada fan, our editor-in-chief, Dan Gibson: A carniceria is opening on the eastside. Carniceria del Cazador is a full-service Mexican grocery and butcher shop at 7419 E. 22nd St. Eastsiders no longer have to venture far for their carne fixes!
The Reid Park Zoo is hosting its annual Zoocson fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. Dozens of Tucson restaurants will provide small-plate tasting stations throughout the zoo. The 21-and-older event also features drinks and live music. All kinds of goodies will be auctioned, with the proceeds benefiting the zoo. Tickets are $120, or $90 for zoo members.
