Tucson Food Truck Roundup II

The second Tucson Food Truck Roundup is just around the corner, and a handful of excellent mobile food operations will be there. Expect Korean-Mexican fusion food by MaFooCo; Cuban creations by Jamie's Bitchen Kitchen; the outstanding Mexican street food of KBORK Tacos y Gorditas; sweets by Pin-Up Pastries; gourmet ice pops by Cyclopsicle; and more. The inaugural event in November was an enormous hit, and all of the trucks quickly sold out of food. You can bet the trucks will pull out all the stops for this one, so bring your appetite. It takes place at 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5, at Dinnerware Artspace, 119 E. Toole Ave. Admission is free.

Juice and Smoothies

Vila Jarrell, owner of V Fine Thai Dining, at Congress Street and Stone Avenue, has opened a juice bar inside the LA Fitness at 240 S. Wilmot Road. V Protein Smoothies and Juice Bar sells all sorts of healthful concoctions perfect for post-workout recovery.

Cocktail Class

Downtown Kitchen + Cocktails, 135 S. Sixth Ave., is gearing up for a cocktail class that focuses on libations made from sparkling wine and liquor. The restaurant's manager and lead mixologist, Kristian Unvericht, will explain how flavor and fizz can accentuate each other at "Classic Cocktails: Bubbles and Booze," at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17. The class is $25 and lasts two hours. Reservations are required. Call 623-7700 for reservations or more information.

Coming Soon: Liv Café and Bistro

Liv Café and Bistro is opening at St. Philip's Plaza, at the southeast corner of River Road and Campbell Avenue. The locally owned business says it will be an enthusiastic supporter of goods made in and around Tucson, but that's about all we've heard so far. Check out www.livtucson.com for more information.
