Sushi Garden Relocates

Sue and Chun Kim have moved their Sushi Garden restaurant from Alvernon Way and Broadway Boulevard to the former Elle spot in Broadway Village, on the corner of Country Club Road and Broadway Boulevard. The owners say that the new location has the largest sushi bar in town; lounge and patio areas; and all of the affordable lunch, all-you-can-eat and happy-hour specials that were available at the original spot. Sue and Chun Kim own another Sushi Garden location at the Foothills Mall.

Zayna Mediterranean Café Opens Another Location

Zayna Mediterranean Café, at 9105 E. Tanque Verde Road, now has another location in part of what used to be Feast at 4122 E. Speedway Blvd. The original location is known as one of the better places to dine on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern in this city, and is always a hit with vegetarians due to its long list of meatless meals. Visit www.zaynamediterranean.com for more information.

Craft-Beer Tastings

Discover drinkable ways to beat the summer heat at one of Maynards Market and Kitchen's weekly beer-tastings. Each tasting features five different beers, loads of background information and tasting tips that will help you properly enjoy each brew. Each month features a different theme; tastings this month highlight craft beers from Arizona. Tastings start at 5 p.m., every Sunday, and cost $5. Maynards is located at 400 N. Toole Ave. Call 545-0577, or visit www.www.maynardsmarket.com for more information.

New Farmers' Markets

A new farmers' market opened recently at Ventana Plaza, on the corner of Sunrise Drive and Kolb Road. Organizer Ed Dubis tells us that vendors at the market sell organic produce, prepared foods, beauty products and other things from 2 to 7 p.m., every Tuesday. Dubis says he's started up another farmers' market at the Voyager RV Resort at the intersection of Kolb Road and Interstate 10. The hours for that market are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursdays. Call 603-8116 for more information.

New: The Polish Cottage

A new restaurant called the Polish Cottage has taken over a spot in the shopping center at 4520 E. Broadway Blvd. A look through the windows leads us to believe that the opening is still some time off, although the inside has been painted a nice shade of blue. We'll let you know when we learn more.
