A Clarification: Lindy's at Redline Sports Grill

The food at Lindy's at Redline Sports Grill, a new restaurant going in at the old Pearl nightclub location at Oracle and Wetmore roads, will be handled by Lindon Reilly of Lindy's on Fourth, but that's the only connection between the two businesses. Lindy's on Fourth, at 431 N. Fourth Ave., remains its own deal, and the owners say it will continue to be the only place to get the crazy array of burgers available there. Lindy's at Redline Sports Grill will serve Reilly-inspired burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, salads and other items. It's slated for an early March opening.


New: J. Marinara's

The lunch specials at the new J. Marinara's at 8195 N. Oracle Road are a smoking deal. You get soup, salad and a sandwich for about $6, and it's all delivered with a quickness that will keep the lunch crowd happy. The restaurant specializes in what it calls "East Coast Italian" while also offering traditional items like chicken parmesan and linguini in clam sauce. General manager Joshua Lisk says nothing is more than $20, and that drinks are sold for happy-hour prices all day, every day. Also worthy of note is the Bloody Marinara, a Bloody Mary made with the restaurant's signature marinara sauce. Hours: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and 3:30 p.m. to close, Tuesday through Sunday; 989-3654.


New: China Boy Restaurant

May Lau says a lot of Americanized Chinese food tends to taste the same, which is why she and her husband, Sai, do Chinese food differently. "It's old-fashioned Chinese. If you try it, you will see the difference," she said about the food at their new China Boy Restaurant at 1800 E. Fort Lowell Road, No. 136. The prices are also old-fashioned, especially during lunch, when entrées are available for as little as $5.25. May Lau says the place is super-vegetarian-friendly; everything on the menu can be made the meat-free way. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily; 867-8470.
