Coming Soon: Sweet Things Cupcake Shoppe

A store called Sweet Things Cupcake Shoppe is coming to the Foothills Mall (7401 N. La Cholla Blvd.). Alisa Crisp, who co-owns the shop with Tonia Fierko, said the store will serve more than a dozen flavors of cupcakes, ice cream, flavored coffees, tea and several smoothies when it opens this summer. Crisp said the atmosphere will be reminiscent of an old-fashioned ice-cream parlor, and that cupcakes will go for less than $3. The menu and more information are posted at sweetthingscupcakeshoppe.com.

Harvest Moon Moving

Harvest Moon is moving from its current location at 12985 N. Oracle Road to a new spot at Oro Valley Marketplace, on the corner of Tangerine and Oracle roads. Quincy Zhang, who opened the Chinese eatery in 1999 with his wife, Wanda Zhang, said the new restaurant will be twice as big as the original location, but that's about all that will change. "Better service, better location; same prices, same menu," said Zhang. He hopes to have the new location open by the end of May; 825-5351.

CaffeNation Expands

CaffeNation, at 3191 E. Valencia Road, Suite 111, has added a full bar, and the owners are finishing up renovations that will double the size of the coffee and sandwich shop. Irina Rudnitsky, who owns the eatery with her husband, said she hopes the improvements will pull in larger crowds during afternoons and early evenings. She said the expansion will be completed as soon as the Pima County Health Department signs off on the changes; 294-4995; www.caffenation.com.

AgaveFest

As many as 10 specialty and small-batch tequilas highlight this year's AgaveFest, which takes place at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, at Hotel Congress. The event features tequila-tasting, a mixology competition and samples of cocktails made with tequilas infused with all sorts of interesting flavors. Aaron DeFeo, beverage director at Congress and Maynards Market and Kitchen, joins experts from tequila companies with tasting tips and information. $20; tickets are available at www.hotelcongress.com.

In-N-Out Burger Update

Carl Van Fleet, vice president of planning and marketing for In-N-Out Burger, says the locations under construction at Oro Valley Marketplace (Tangerine and Oracle roads) and the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Kolb Road are both expected to open in June.
