Noshing Around

Real Dads Eat Barbecue

On Father's Day, Sunday, June 15, Acacia will host a no-hassle gourmet barbecue with juicy steaks, pork loin and grilled fish from 4 to 8 p.m. on the patio for $45 per person at 4340 N. Campbell Ave.; 232-0101.

Garlic and Onion Festival

Celebrate the harvest of sweet onions and flavorful garlic at the Agua Linda Farm in Amado on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, from 5 to 9 p.m. Enjoy the sprawling farm, hay rides, onion rings and live music. Primo restaurant hosts the food concessions on June 20. No pets or outside food are allowed, and no RSVP is required. Admission is free. Amado is 30 minutes south of downtown Tucson. Summer Road Trip

Kingfisher announces its 15th annual summer road trip, with food and beverages from the Pacific Northwest, the Great Plains/Midwest, back East, California/Hawaii and down South. Dates and menus can be found at the Kingfisher Web site; 2564 E. Grant Road; 323-7739.

On Vacation

Caffé Milano, 46 W. Congress St., will be closed for summer vacation from June 12 to July 14.

Closing?

Art's BBQ and Vel's Catering will close permanently on June 28 unless the business finds another location. Their current address at 450 N. Main Ave. is up for sale by the state. Art and Vel cannot afford the price, even though they added about $100,000 rewiring, heating and cooling improvements. This might be the last chance to dig in to good-old-fashioned Southern-style barbecue and cobbler. Art's is open Wednesday through Saturday; 388-9295.

Closed: Torino Ristorante

Torino Ristorante has reportedly closed, because the town of Oro Valley wouldn't recommend renewal of a liquor license. Read this blog, which includes Oro Valley council minutes.

Caffé Torino

Torino should not be confused with Caffé Torino, which is still open in the same shopping center, 10325 N. La Cañada Drive; 219-2994. Caffé Torino is open daily from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. serving breakfast and lunch.
