Take Mom Out to Dine!

This week is all about Mother's Day, which is on Sunday, May 11. Most restaurants' regular menus are also available; tax and gratuity is not included in listed prices.

At the Armitage Wine Lounge, moms receive a complimentary glass of champagne plus two chocolate-covered cherries, and brunch offerings (à la carte pricing) are available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2905 N. Skyline Drive; 682-9740.

Treat Mom to a fabulous three-course prix-fixe meal and a complimentary glass of wine at Bistro Philippe all day from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for $32.50; 2990 N. Swan Road; 318-1118.

At Chad's Steakhouse and Saloon, moms with hearty appetites can indulge in steak and shrimp, plus all the side fixings and chocolate ice cream, for $19.95 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 3001 N. Swan Road; 881-1802.

Mom gets a complimentary meal at Cuvée World Bistro if she's part of a party of three or more, or a free dessert for parties of two, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., at 3352 E. Speedway Blvd.; 881-7577.

Animal-loving moms might want to go to the Reid Park Zoo from 5 to 7:30 p.m., where they can stroll the grounds enjoying entertainment, and receive a keep-sake cooler packed with a delicious picnic dinner for four for $75. Reserve by May 9; 881-4753, ext. 1.

Rio Café offers Mom something special: a complimentary mimosa or glass of champagne during Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or an early dinner with a special menu from 2 to 6 p.m. at 2526 E. Grant Road; 323-5003. If you make reservations for the Sunday brunch, Mom receives two tickets (while supplies last) for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra later that day, at 2 p.m.

No reservations are needed at Sweet Tomatoes' full Sunday breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Adults pay $8.39; it costs $1.69 for kids ages 3 to 5, and $4.69 for kids ages 6 to 12. Check out the Sweet Tomatoes Web site for the location nearest you.

From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Zivaz Mexican Bistro, moms and another person can enjoy two signature entrées plus a dessert for only $20 at 4590 E. Broadway Blvd.; 325-1234.
