New: Cocina Loca

The crazy kitchen opened last month at 1012 E. Sixth St., at Park Avenue, serving the UA and surrounding area natural and organic old-school classics updated with modern touches. Specialties include the veggie avalanche, chicken wings, shrimp on masa, gourmet burgers and one-pot dishes. Check out the menu at online, or call 792-0762. Chef David Benoit has been cooking around town for 10 years and formerly cooked at Roma Caffe.

New: Jai Thai

There's a new Thai restaurant in town which opened a few months ago: Jai Thai, at 6151 E. Broadway Blvd. It's housed in the former Café Bonita spot in that bright-orange-and-purple strip mall that also houses Austin's and Seri Melaka; 790-7877.

Zona 78 No. 2

Zona 78 opened its second location on Feb. 18 at 7301 E. Tanque Verde Road; 296-7878. More than just pizzas, Zona 78 serves pasta and dishes like pork tenderloin and rainbow trout. Save room for dessert, especially the cherries jubilee panna cotta; it's other-worldly. Zona 78 serves locally grown organic greens and tomatoes.

The Color of Money

Paul Newman is best known for his sexy self, his movies and his salad dressing, but he now has a line of premium wines called Newman's Own, which will be premiering, red-carpet-style, at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 6:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress (so recommends the press release). Francis Ford Coppola's wine will also be served, along with a sumptuous menu and a Hollywood trivia contest; the film The Color of Money will play as a backdrop. The cost is $95 per person, excluding tax and gratuity, at 6360 N. Campbell Ave.; 529-5017.

For free, let's adjourn to blog.tucsonweekly.com to talk about our favorite Newman and Coppola films.
