New: Dinner My Way
Dinner My Way, a meal-assembly store, recently opened at 1101 N. Wilmot Road, Suite 119 (at Speedway Boulevard); 296-7737. People can assemble meals from prepared ingredients, then take them home to cook, grill or freeze until later. Other meal-assembly concepts in Tucson include Dream Dinners and Super Suppers on the northwest side, and Simply Dinners on the eastside. Simply Dinners will be opening a second store soon in Plaza Palomino at Swan and Fort Lowell roads.
The Dish on the Dish
Here's the latest on the Dish and RumRunner: The RumRunner will remain open at 3200 E. Speedway Blvd. until moving day, which is penciled in as July 23. The Dish will take a summer vacation for part of July and will reopen at the new 3131 E. First St. location, tentatively on July 27. The big change is that the restaurant will be much more integrated into the overall RumRunner scheme of things; for example, they'll share a common entrance. The configuration will seat only two people per table, with the majority of seating at the dining counter. Oddly enough, the new Dish will be smaller, seating only 25 instead of 42! The upside is that the Dish will be more accessible to the pop-in neighborhood crowd. Stay tuned for a progress report.
Hungry Howie's Pizza
Mike Silva and Gordon MacIntyre opened the third area Hungry Howie's Pizza franchise at 7575 W. Twin Peaks Road in Marana. The restaurant serves eight flavors of pizza crust, with the most popular being butter-cheese and garlic-herb. The store, which mostly features delivery and takeout, has limited seating and is open daily from 11 a.m.; 572-6767.
