Chipotle is hosting a toy drive to benefit Tucson's Toys for Tots. Donate a new, unwrapped toy from Dec. 8 through Dec. 12 at any of the five local Chipotle locations, and receive a free burrito, order of tacos, burrito bol or salad. Any toy will do as long as it's suitable for infants to teenagers. Check out www.chipotle.com for the location near you. Magpies Gourmet Pizza is still collecting turkeys for the Community Food Bank. Bring in a frozen turkey to Magpies by Saturday, Dec. 23, and you will receive a free pizza. Or bring in a new children's book or unwrapped toy for Cheyenne's Kindness, an organization that delivers toys and books to homeless shelters and emergency rooms, and receive $2 off your next pizza.
Gift Certificate Sale
The Tucson Originals restaurants create a quarterly buying frenzy when they offer gift certificates online that are discounted by 30 to 40 percent. For instance, pay $15 for an Eclectic Café gift certificate, and you can use it for $25 worth of food. Or pay $30 for a Montana Avenue gift certificate, and order $50 worth of food. Pete Kotzambasis, longtime owner of the former El Greco, died Dec. 1 after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 71 years old.
