The Taxman Cometh
April 17 is tax day in 2006, and while the IRS isn't giving any breaks, Terra Cotta is offering its signature plates--such as goat cheese-stuffed prawns and spicy honey-glazed salmon--for the less-taxing price of $10.40, down from the usual $16-$30. Check it out at 3500 E. Sunrise Drive; 577-8100.

High Flying Food
The Tucson Airport Authority board of directors named OTG Management to operate the food and beverage concessions at Tucson International Airport. The Philadelphia-based company will open a full-service sit-down restaurant on the third floor (goodbye, El Charro), food courts on each concourse and an ice cream counter and mini-market on the ticketing level. By autumn 2006, visitors will experience the first phase of the new plan when Jet Rock, a music-themed bar and grill, opens on the third floor overlooking the ticketing level center point. Seasonal live entertainment and 24 beers on tap, including local microbrews, are expected to lure travelers upstairs, where several new public-meeting rooms will also be available. Downstairs at the base of the escalator, a Baskin-Robbins 31 Flavors ice cream counter will share space with Cibo Express Gourmet Market, featuring 500 to-go items. More info next week.
