What was the first concert you ever saw?
fIREHOSE (formerly the Minutemen) at the Cabaret Metro in Chicago.
What CDs are in your changer right now?
Seriously ... I just got a best-of-Elvis, two-disc set. I mean, it's Elvis, and the music makes me feel good.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
About 200. I had a CD case of 400, but it got stolen from me.
Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?
I download on iTunes. I've never downloaded illegally, as far as I know. I've always paid. I like to have the actual CD, though.
What was the first album you owned?
Neil Diamond was the first I ever remember listening to. I listened to Van Halen from my older sister.
What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
I can't remember the name, but it's a song from the Minutemen where it says at the breakdown, "I must look like a dork."
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
I don't really have too many guilty pleasures; most of the stuff I listen to is pretty obvious. Listening to jazz music would be the most different, but not because I like it.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
The reason why I started to play the drums was because of George Hurley (Minutemen, fIREHOSE) and Matt Cameron (Soundgarden). Musically, I'm most inspired by my brother, Pete.
Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?
