Nine Questions

Former Tucsonan Jenny Lovold is a self- proclaimed music snob currently living in San Francisco to "promote (her) doll fetish/art." (She has a postcard book of doll photos with witty captions that will soon be published, and an upcoming art show at a SF gallery.) She volunteers at 826 Valencia and tends bar in North Beach when she's not "making epic felt-board stories about nothing in particular."

What was the first concert you ever saw?

Prince. The ticket said, "wear something purple," so I wore purple lace gloves. It changed my life. I was pretty then.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

Changer? Elliott Smith. I never change.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

Five hundred, or maybe way less.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

Illegally. Fight The Man.

What was the first album you owned?

A "Rhinestone Cowboy" 45. God bless Glen Campbell.

What song would you like played at your funeral?

"Is That All There Is?" by Peggy Lee.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

The Xanadu soundtrack. I love to dance.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

Donovan, because I'm named after his song, "Jennifer Juniper." I could have been a Heather or a Vanessa if it weren't for him.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

The Velvet Underground's Loaded, maybe?
