Nine Questions

Faitha Lowe-Bailey is a member of Monolog Cabin, a group of writers that regularly performs comedic monologues at Club Congress. Sadly, it doesn't pay the bills. To that end, she spends her days as assistant director of programs and exhibits at the Tucson Children's Museum.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

The first big show was Stabbing Westward at Spring Fling, the night Kurt Cobain died. Every garment I wore was made of flannel.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

No CD changer for me. In my $30 Hello Kitty CD player is Matthew and Son, by Cat Stevens.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

I have 53 CDs, OK? What's it to you?

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

No computer--and no real understanding of what "downloading" is.

What was the first album you owned?

My mother gave me two albums in second grade: Never Mind the Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack; I don't know why she did that. Loved them both.

What song would you like played at your funeral?

The Queen of the Nights aria from Mozart's Zaide.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

94.9 Mix FM. Oh yeah. Tucson's at-work station.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

I honestly thought I would turn into Chrissie Hynde when I grew up. But I didn't, so I guess she didn't change my life at all.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Armed Forces, by Elvis Costello.
