Nine Questions

Brien Roussel, D.C., is the owner of Backfire, The Chiropractic Hot Spot, located at 330 E. Prince Road. Roussel has served 13 years in private practice, and has owned Backfire for more than three years. The goal of "His Royal Crackness" is to create a relaxing atmosphere for his patients and talk them through their sessions so that they fully understand what is being done to them, and why.

What was the first concert you ever saw?

When I was in fourth or fifth grade, my three older sisters took me to see Marshall Tucker, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd in New Orleans.

What CDs are in your changer right now?

Tricky, Maxinquaye and Massive Attack, for the store. In my car, I have The Cure, Seventeen Seconds; and the new Wyclef Jean, Young Heart Attack and The Sleepy Jackson.

How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?

Close to 1,000, if not more.

Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?

No. I purchase everything!

What was the first album you owned?

(Long pause.) I want to say the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever ... yes, it was!

What song would you like played at your funeral?

Bessie Smith, "Weeping Willow Blues." As a joke, Prince's "Purple Rain," so everybody in the crowd can sway their arms.

Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?

'N Sync--I love 'N Sync! I'm an 'N Sync freak! Justin Timberlake is my favorite, and Joey Fatone is my second-favorite. My favorite 'N Sync song is, "Do Your Thing," the last song on the Celebrity disc.

What band or artist changed your life, and how?

Bad Company--they had everything. I mean, Paul's voice ... they were like Led Zeppelin; they told a story. I dated the ugliest, buck-toothed redhead in high school named Sherri Fazzio. We drove the same Trans-Am and I was madly in love with her because she liked B.C.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?

Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon and Dusty Springfield, Dusty in Memphis.
