What was the first concert you ever saw?
Chronic Future, at Skrappy's, when it was on Oracle (Road). They sounded really different than they sound now. It was funny, but it was good in terms of being loud and crowded. I think some old woman kept me from getting beat up in the mosh pit!

Jimmy Eat World, Futures; Cursive, Semantics of Song; Cex, Maryland Mansions.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
Probably about 300 or so CDs. I have 100 or so records that I really like.
Do you download music, and if so, legally?
My computer is too slow. Does legal downloading mean paying for it? I just try to raid my friends' collections and burn them.
What was the first album you owned?
I got Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet and Van Halen's first album at about the same time.
What song would you like played at your funeral?
Pavement's "Gold Soundz" ... something not too dramatic. I'd like to make everyone feel funny about crying.
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What are your guilty pleasures?
Slayer, heavy metal bands. But most of my friends know about that. The Scorpions.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
The Smashing Pumpkins made me want to play music. Conor Oberst is important to me because I thought he had "singing problems," like I do. He made it seem possible to write songs and play them.
Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?
Pavement, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain or Fugazi, In on the Kill Taker. It changes all the time, though.
