A five-hour VIP tour for visitors age 15 and older is offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday of August 24; $40. The tour covers the entire summit of the mountain, including the world's largest solar telescope, the 18-story tall Mayall four-meter telescope, and a half-mile of telescopes and facilities. Guests must be able to climb three flights of stairs and walk at least a quarter mile. The temperature on Kitt Peak is generally 20 degrees cooler than in Tucson.
