It's Time to Crawl!

OK, let's face facts here: Fall in Tucson doesn't mean much. Maybe a drop down to sub-triple-digit temperatures, an influx of lots of people both young and old (that's students and snowbirds, respectively) and the resulting traffic jams that come with 'em.

But there is one meaningful thing that the fall brings to Tucson: an influx of fun stuff to do, which is what brings us here today.

This Saturday, Oct. 8, is one of the most fun: Fall Club Crawl™ 2005. This annual event will bring roughly 10,000 people, both young and old, to the historic downtown area. The reason for the gathering? Performances from around 80 bands, most of 'em local, many of them national, on almost 20 stages. In fact, this year, we're more excited than ever about the lineup of acts, be they local veterans, local newcomers or those being brought in from out of town (getting Bettye LaVette, widely regarded as one of the world's greatest living soul singers, for example, was quite a coup). There is literally something for everyone here, and you're all cordially invited to join in the fun.

All it takes is a wristband, available in advance at CD City for only $8--with a killer, free local compilation CD, Club Crawl Volume 2, thrown into the deal, while supplies last. You can also take your chances on getting a wristband, but no CD, for $10 at one of the venues on Saturday. But be warned: They may sell out. Oh, yeah, you need a valid ID proving you're 21 or older to enter most venues, too.

We'd like to thank all of our sponsors for allowing us to put on such an enormous endeavor; we certainly couldn't do it without them. And we certainly couldn't do it without you, either--the music fans who care enough to turn out in droves every year to celebrate downtown Tucson and the local and national bands that play there regularly.

It's a good time, people, and we hope you'll join us in the fun on Saturday.
