Editor's Note

Help Wanted!

While that other newspaper is letting people go, we here at the Tucson Weekly are looking to add a few good journalists to our illustrious list of regular contributors:

• We're looking for a news/features freelancer. The great Dave Devine has other things he wants do, so we're looking for someone to take his place (not that Dave is replaceable, really). This contributor will write regularly for the Weekly's Currents section, covering several assigned beats. The writer will also do occasional cover stories, and contribute to the newspaper and website in other ways. This is a freelance position, and the writer will be paid on a per-piece basis.

Qualified applicants will have at least two years of reporting experience, impeccable accuracy and fine writing skills.

If interested and qualified, e-mail me a cover letter, a résumé and five clips/writing samples no later than Wednesday, Aug. 24. No phone calls, please.

• We're also looking for a freelance copy editor. This contributor will copy-edit and fact-check most of the words that go into the Tucson Weekly's articles each week, and will be paid on a piece-fee basis.

Qualified applicants will have at least two years of some sort of editing experience. Applicants with potential will be expected to take a copy-editing test. This is a work-from-home, freelance position.

Interested and qualified? E-mail me a cover letter and résumé; no later than Wednesday, Aug. 24. Again, no phone calls, please.

• Finally, we're looking to add a freelance theater reviewer. Worthy candidates will have amazing writing skills, a theater background and a lack of serious conflicts of interest. To apply, please e-mail me a cover letter, a resume and five clips/writing samples by Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Thanks, everyone.
