The Accountant is a ridiculous, implausible thriller, in some ways even more ridiculous than the recent, somewhat weak The Girl on the Train. So why did I end up liking it?

Celluloid Celebration

Tucson, there's another Film Festival coming your way Oct. 20-23.

Train in Vain

Despite good performances from a cast that includes Emily Blunt, Justin Theroux and Alison Janney, director Tate Taylor's The Girl on the Train winds up being a little too ridiculous for a movie that wishes to be taken seriously.

Epic Proportions

To call this a disaster film similar to those put out by Irwin Allen in the '70s is both a compliment (Hey, some of those where pretty great) and a bit belittling.

Walking Tall

The Magnificent Seven gets the fall movie season off to a good start.

Scared Off

Blair Witch is essentially the original film with louder noises.

Brilliant Plane

Historical accuracy be damned.
