An update from Boondock's' Lounge:

CHANGE OF EVENT THIS SAT TO A BENEFIT FOR CANDYE KANE! We want you all to know that Candye will NOT be at The Boondocks this Sat. She is in the hospital right now, very ill. We will still put on a special show in her honor and for her benefit! Kathy & The Groovetones will be hosting plus more! Anyone who has purchased advance tickets can use them and donate to Candye's medical bills. We will also be taking donations for Candye at the door. If you want a refund on advance tickets please call 690-0991 and leave your name & number for Cathy.

Original post:

Thanks to the Boondocks and the good people of the Southern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation, blues and rockabilly performer Candy Kane returns to Tucson at the Boondocks Lounge (3306 N. First Ave.) on Saturday, Jan. 9 from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Kane returns with her band featuring Laura Chavez with Kathy Davis and The Groove Tones. In 2008, Kane was diagnosed with a rare pancretive cancer and has only gone on to prove she could indeed be The Toughest Girl Alive—a stage play she penned for the New York Fringe Festival. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door with a $3 discount for KXCI and SABHF members.  For more info, visit boondockslounge.com.
