Celebrate Black History Month with a screening of Soda_Jerk’s Astro Black and John Akomfarh’s The Last Angel of History, a product of Afrofuturism, a strain of late 20th century pop-culture pioneered by Sun Ra, George Clinton and Lee Perry, which drew on sci-fi, electronic instruments and experiences of racial marginalization to forge a unique aesthetic.
