Armitage Wine Lounge and Café

The foothills area is home to a lot of wine-drinking yuppies—um, we mean "poverty-challenged" people. But you don't have to be rich to have a palate for superb wine, so it's only fair that we have a place with great wine and great prices right in the heart of our "wine country" (aka La Encantada). At Armitage, every day has a deal: half-off Mondays; free-wine-tasting Tuesdays; half-off-a-bottle Wednesday; and even ladies' night (Thursday)—plus $5 wine and appetizers every day from 4 to 7 p.m. While the food is classy—witness the brie bruschetta and basil-bedecked caprese—Armitage doesn't turn up its nose at "wine-bar comfort food," like homemade mac-and-cheese, at reasonable prices.
