Lovin' Spoonfuls has once again convinced Weekly readers that the restaurant's version of vegetarian fare is the best Tucson has to offer. The people there take traditional comfort foods, subtract the animal products, and replace them with tasty vegan alternatives—meaning a healthier version of the meal is born. The food is delicious; the portions are generous; and it's all cholesterol-free. Sure, there are salads and homemade soups, but the real gems are specialties like the "tuna" melt, the country fried "chicken" platter, the stroganoff supreme, and the award-winning cashew mushroom pâté. The chocolate shakes will leave you speechless, whether it be from brain-freeze or pure ecstasy.
