The Presidio Trail

Downtown Tucson New in February 2006, the Presidio Trail is a self-guided, 2.5-mile walking tour that meanders through Tucson's history, leading walkers past 23 Hohokam, Spanish, Mexican and Arizona territorial sites. The trail is a line of turquoise paint on the sidewalk so you can't get lost. It winds through plazas and parks, over bridges, past fountains, museums, scenic old houses and inviting places to stop for a meal or a drink. Since it's a loop, you can start anywhere, but we suggest you stop by the Tucson Visitors Bureau in La Placita (100 S. Church Ave.) first to pick up the free Presidio Trail map and guide brochure.
