The menu offers veal, duck, chicken, halibut, swordfish and butternut squash flan. Jazz plays softly. The décor is Spanish colonial. Muted voices laugh quietly. No screaming kids. No ringing cell phones. Everyone is polite. In the men's room, an old photo shows a stunning panorama of the place years ago, all by itself in the foothills, surrounded by nothing but saguaro-filled desert. The changes in Tucson are enough to break your heart, but Hacienda del Sol soldiers on.
