Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Readers Pick

Sometimes you just gotta have meat, so it might as well be the best. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse fills the bill. Using only USDA Prime—not Choice—beef, Fleming's ups the ante even more by serving only the top 2 percent of the Prime beef available. Prime rib, New York strip and filet mignon are the main attractions, but there's a thoughtful sampling of fresh seafood as well as innovative appetizers and "small plates," featuring, say, New Bedford scallops with a Meyer lemon/honey glaze, or lobster tempura. Wine is available by the glass or bottle, and, oh yes, there are divine desserts. A very tempting "5 for $6 til 7" happy hour menu features five wines, five specialty cocktails and five appetizers, each for six bucks. But it's the beef that beckons, hand-cut daily and prepared to your order.
