Shot in the Dark Café

Staff Pick

"I got a tetanus," reads a scrap of paper, signed and dated in a child-like scrawl. It's easy to understand how this secret art treasure might be discovered by a child—and it's easy to understand how the temptation to add to it would be irresistible. Other entries, even in their randomness, hint at a broader design, an intentionality about creating a trove of ephemeral art—quotations, haiku, drawings, lists, secrets—to delight and engage the accidental tourist, and to keep a conversation going among the Shot's 24-hour community. Hint: It's in the drawer.
