Get out of the house, for crying out loud! Meet some folks. Be reminded every day of the value of all that experience and the skills you've accumulated. True, looking for work can be a full-time job, but it's also brutally demoralizing. What you need is an appreciation fix. You may get more appreciation than you ever had at work when you put those chops into volunteer service. Volunteer work looks great on a résumé, too, and it will expand your all-important network for job recommendations and referrals.
