Live Theatre Workshop's Etcetera Series
The shows don't run all year, and they don't start until 10:30 p.m. Those are the only downsides when the subject is the Etcetera series at Live Theatre Workshop, where the company does edgier drama and comedy than you'll find in its mainstage presentations--or in most other mainstage presentations in town, for that matter. The scripts usually aren't perfect, but risk-taking generally precludes perfection; the performances, though, are focused and spot-on. The past year has brought such odd, intense shows as Titus Andronicus, The Big Funk and Corpus Christi. Who knows what's next?
