It's tough to say which is more fun at Desert Dust: walking in, or walking out. Walking in, you get the thrill of never knowing what kind of treasure you'll find, and the joy of discovering treasures you never even imagined existed. Walking out, you get the thrill of the treasures tucked neatly beneath your arm. This cozy, packed shop specializes in kitschy geegaws, but also stocks a fine array of other items. Depending on the day you venture there, you can find patio-furniture sets, hippie suede pants that outdo those worn by Charles Manson, or a gilded lamp featuring a naked nymph on a pedestal. Sorry, the lamp is taken.
