It can be boring ordering drinks over a wooden bar at a place swarming with ordinary people—but at Mr. Head’s, the bar is glass, showcasing beautiful, swirly colored art for admiring while you order your drink. There are also plenty of extraordinary Fourth Avenue folks to stare at and chat with, and—on the weekends, at least—there is a wide variety of live music, from soul to rap to punk … and there’s no cover. We’re not sure why Mr. Head’s is named that—maybe it has something to do with its psychedelic glassware?—but the title works, and so does
the venue.
