When life seems like a three-ring circus and balancing your checkbook is more worrisome than dangling from the high wire without a net, one of life's little pleasures is being able to eat lunch for peanuts in this town. And at the above fab four--yes, there was a four-way tie, thanks to indecisive readers and a statistical circus--you can. With most of Baggin's gourmet sandwiches, you can afford to throw in a raspberry lemonade or Mr. Pibb. Baggin's delivers for a low $6 minimum. While heady aromas of freshly baked breads seduces at Beyond Bread, bask in Betty's brie, Ollie's original or Stan's stack of budget-mindful sandwiches. Wrap your jaws around king of the jungle ($5.75) sandwiches and less-expensive hearty soups and salads served in bodacious bread bowls a la Bison Witches. Eat healthy Chinese at Guilin seven days a week starting at $4.55 with hot and sour or egg drop soup, and choose between more than 40 entrees, fried or steamed rice, and an egg roll--or the curious chicken wing.
