Maybe you go to Antigone Books because you think it's cool that it's the only solar-powered independent bookstore of its kind. Maybe you go there because it's a locally-owned Fourth Avenue Tucson institution. Keeping local dollars local is always a good excuse to spend some time between the fantastic book selection and the unique cards and gifts (jewelry, music, T-shirts and more). And, uh, hey, if you've never been to Antigone, think of this as your invitation. While it's good to celebrate and support independent booksellers, there's a special vibe at Antigone that Tucson Weekly readers love. For parents, the children's book section is wonderful and a nice retreat for little readers. The store also has one of the best selections of local books—authors and subjects. This place is Tucson literary paradise.
