Beyond Bread

Readers Pick

The best aspect of Beyond Bread is that you can snack on the bread for free. At the front of the line are small pieces of bread--perhaps whole grain, or cinnamon raisin, or white--along with a tub of butter, so you can give the breads a taste to see if you're interested. You probably will be. The free stuff is good, but there are also some stronger breads that you are not likely to find in the free pile (like the fig and pistachio, which makes for some great toast). In the spirit of our sports theme, please note that a lot of Beyond Bread's loaves are vaguely football-shaped. So if your touch football session is interrupted because of a flattened ball, here's a do-it-yourself solution. Also, all those carbs are great for tennis!
