To get a true up-close-and-personal look at the food that made South Tucson famous, call the folks at Gray Line Tours for their "Best of the Barrio" culinary tour. You'll board an air-conditioned bus (or van) and head for South Tucson, while a friendly tour guide relates the history of the area, details about the food and the wonders of Mexican culture. The literal "three-hour tour" usually starts with a trip to La Estrella Bakery for some sweet treats. Then it's on to Guero Canelo for a carne asado burro and one of those famous Sonoran hot dogs. A couple of more stops, and you end your tour at Oasis Fruit Cones for a raspado. Wow! Call for details.
