In lower Manhattan, it's Katz's, but the best deli in Tucson is Shlomo and Vito's. From the historic photos of New York City to the plate of crisp pickles served before each meal, it's clear: This place is the real deal. Delicious food can be selected from a long case containing a wide variety of scrumptious-looking meats, salads, cheeses and desserts; a menu offers dozens of choices for either sit-down dining or takeout. One definite advantage for lighter eaters: Half-sandwiches are available. An especially interesting meal offering is latkes—potato pancakes—served with applesauce and sour cream. On Wednesdays, they cost $5 for all you can eat.
