Epic Café
Epic is your quintessential Fourth Avenue hangout: eclectic, noisy and open late. College students, jaded professionals, hipsters and even the occasional drifter all seem to find their way to Epic to take advantage of the extensive menu and the free wireless Internet. Epic offers the usual coffee and bagel fare, along with a variety of specialty drinks, sandwiches, soups and desserts. The worn-in couches are crammed with people reading, writing, arguing, listening to music or just hanging out; the crowd is anything but boring, and half the fun here is the people-watching. Also of note are the sassy employees who keep it interesting when the place is dead (although that's rare).
