It's hard to find a good Bloody Mary. Damn hard. And a terrible Bloody Mary is an abomination: Too much or too little of any one of the half-dozen or so ingredients that go into the drink can muck it up. Nothing's more heartbreaking than ordering one and being presented with a glass of salted tomato juice sloshed into a cup with a shot of crappy vodka and a celery stick hanging out the top. But, happily, Chicago Bar is a reliable source for good Bloody Marys. They have it down to a science there, balancing spices, Worcestershire sauce and garnishes into a precise blend. It's a perfect accompaniment to the live music by bands such as Neon Prophet that are found there on a regular basis. Bloody Marys, blues and reggae. What else is there?
