The biscuits and gravy at Pappy's Diner fulfill the two most important criteria for this classic comfort food: The biscuits are big, and they are covered in more peppery sausage gravy than most heart doctors would recommend. Filling an entire dinner plate, the fluffy, homemade biscuits do their best to hold up under the deluge of white gravy gratuitously slopped on top. The sausage adds flavor, but stops short of adding a gray, greasy hue to the dish. For about $5, you can have two eggs, home fries and enough biscuits and gravy to satisfy the caloric demands of an entire rugby squad. It's suggested that one split this dish with a friend, or, seriously, maybe two.
