Rillito River Park Trail

Readers Pick

Maybe you want an easier bike path, but something that still gets you close to nature (but not too close), or maybe you're just looking for a way to get a bit of dirt on your bike. Any way you look at it, those 12 flat miles of the Rillito River Park Trail are a great way to start off your Sunday morning. Both sides of the trail are usually packed early in the morning on weekends with walkers, runners, rollerbladers, skateboarders and other cyclists. Recent improvements on the south side of the path include a large paved section, separate walking trails and a new covered rest area (complete with a water fountain and bathrooms) near the Dodge Boulevard bridge. Watch out for the more daring lizards, though.
