Founded with the radical idea that all students, including poor ones, deserve an education, Pima has always offered superb art classes taught by working artists. The renowned painter Jim Waid taught there early on. Today's profs include Ann Simmons-Myers, who heads the excellent photography program at Pima West, and abstract painter Mike Stack, lead art professor at East Campus.
