You can officially call the alt-goth-industrial-witch house dance night at Surly Wench (424 N. Fourth Ave.) a Ritual because on Saturday, Feb. 20, the dark and moody event will be celebrating its one-year anniversary. Of course, Ritual's resident DJs Plastic Disease, Black Flagg and E_Rupt will be on deck, spinning the tunes to get your witchy vibes going strong and get you moving to the theme of Evolution—think some blend of old favorites like Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Bauhaus mixed with more modern artists like Ladytron, Purity Ring, The Soft Moon and locals Alter Der Ruine.

Batwings Productions will be on site to take pics of you and your occult crew in your best all black attire. The 21 and over dance event runs from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. There is a $5 cover. Stay in the know with this and other upcoming Ritual events by following the event's Tumblr page at www.the---ritual.tumblr.com.
