It's been a busy ten months for the small, independent record store known as Wooden Tooth (415 N. Fouth Ave.). Between opening a fairly priced record store, resurrecting live music at Café Passe, spinning records at several bars and events around town and hosting album listening parties for some of Tucson's top local acts, WTR's Jacob Sullivan and Kellen Fortier have firmly cemented themselves in Tucson's music community. But, the duo couldn't stop there. Now nearing one year in business, Wooden Tooth Records is collaborating with Arizona artists and Matt Rendon's Midtown Island Studios to create unique releases under the Wooden Tooth record label.
For WTR's first release, they've enlisted Katterwaul for a two-track 45 RPM vinyl single called Follow You Home. To celebrate the new label and Katterwaul's new album, the band will be playing at the record store on Saturday, March 5 with Karima Walker and Cherie Cherie. The all ages event begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a copy of the special 7" release of Follow You Home.
Katterwaul's album will be followed by a release from Phoenix's Nanami Ozone on the WTR label. Stay tuned for more details on that.
