Dear Mr. Speaker,

I've just read a front page story in this morning's Arizona Daily Star and I can't resist the urge to comment, even though I've not had the experience of sitting in the House while prayer is being offered.

If prayer is to be a routine part of the opening of a meeting of the body and all members are invited in rotation to offer the prayer, it would seem that Representative Mendez was acting appropriately in praying in his fashion.
