      <![CDATA[Ah yes -- the Coast Starlight:  there is little to compare with this sight of Mt Shasta at dawn viewed from the dome car, but after that you're in for the treat of your train crawling up to Portland at about  15 to 20 mph (the freight lines who own the track won't let the passenger trains go any faster).
