Mr. Safier, I'm curious about the elephant in the room. Your analysis focused on teacher salaries post Prop 123 in comparison to other districts. What about administrators? Something tells me that the administrators are paid at least as well, but I'm betting much more than other districts.

The same people demanding more and more money gets poured into the bottomless pit that is TUSD have been silent since the recent story broke that TUSD administrators (most of whom earn six figure salaries) got a nice raise thanks to Prop 123...the teachers? Not so much. It's the same vicious cycle that we'll simply rinse and repeat as we've done for decades. I already hear the cries for taxing corporations more and raising property taxes to feed the beast. There is NEVER enough money for the TUSD bureaucracy.

" a common sense immigration process once and for all.” .

This is what a common sense immigration program looks like to me, and most Americans would agree:

"In the first place we should insist that the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equity with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming an American and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Theodore Roosevelt

Here we go again, class size versus money, money versus class size and the so called "experts".
What doesn't take a study, is to look at the effect of federal government intervention in education. Jimmy Carter implemented the Department of Education in 1979. After almost 40 years and billions and billions of dollars what exactly have we received thanks to federal involvement? Nothing. Except I would say it's gotten worse. Of course, with any government bureaucracy the answer ALWAYS is: more money. How much longer do we keep pouring money into this black hole expecting better results? In what other investment would one accept such a poor return? When is it time to admit the Dept of Education is a failed idea, and try something else? Will it take 50 years? 75 years? 100 years? Where does this faith in big government come from? I don't understand it.

I respectfully reject the premise that we aren't taxed enough and therefore taxes need to go up. When the current POTUS slammed his predecessor as "unpatriotic" because the national debt was $9 trillion, but exploded it to $19 trillion and yet liberals say it still isn't enough..we have a problem. Government spends too much, and is far to eager to always spend more than the revenues raised through taxation. There will never be enough. Reagan was correct 30 years ago when he famously said "Government doesn't have a revenue problem. Government has a spending problem"

" They argued passionately for the deal with World View, and claimed that the suit has already done damage to the economic prospects for southern Arizona and will do more if it proceeds"

EVERY argument from the entrenched liberal interests that dominate Pima County ALWAYS underlines this ominous sounding "fact" that is actually a myth. The problem is there's never any proof supplied with it. If liberals say it then we must believe it.

If we don't raise taxes for (fill in the blank with xyz liberal pet cause) and it's ECONOMIC ARMEGEDDON to Pima County. It's been used so much that nobody should believe it anymore.
