Re: “Sticks 'n Strings Music Center

The owner Tony is a dishonest douchebag. He took a bunch of stuff from me to sell on consignment. 7 months later I have no accounting of it and he ignores my request to return my stuff. If you deal with this creep he will lie and stall and various other scammy moves. If you pay for something up front, don't count on getting it. I know a number of his supplier have dropped him because of similar complaints. He has an F rating from BBB. At this point I've filed against him in small claims court.

Re: “Linda Ronstadt Not a Fan of Downtown These Days

Linda is wrong about the "Stalinist Architecture". Stalin-era architecture in Russia is actually quite distinctive. It is the Khruschev and Brezhniev-era buildings which are really awful, and which remind one of the government and bank buildings downtown.

Re: “A Last Brew-Ha-Ha: Ike's Closes Speedway Location - UPDATE

This is simply another triumph of GREED. Many of us who are regulars at this place have been going there for nearly 2 decades (going back to when it was Cuppucinno's). This was one of those comfortable, reasonably priced places where "everybody knows your name" like on the Cheers TV show. 4 days notice of closing -- Ike you are truly a putz. Giving your employees, many of whom have been there forever, who treated not just your customers but your family as well with love and kindnes, just 2 weeks severance pay -- what a cheapskate. My contempt also extends to the owners of the Rancho Center strip mall, who no doubt facilitated this transaction
