My comments? I totally believe it. My outdoor hiking friends and I found a very similar place. @ Jerry Rose: You were in or near the
Sacaton Mountians, on the reservation. Been there, done that. That place is full of oddities. Like the stone 'giants' lying on the desert floor next to each other. (near Sacaton, the town). I am a treasure hunter, prospector, and 'explorer' of the Arizona deserts. Did it for 25 years. In an area, north of Apache Junction, near Bulldog Canyon, we went to locate an existing mine from an elderly miner that had passed away. While searching, from the Jeep, I was looking across the canyon from the road, and spotted a set of columns. Thinking they could be mine marker posts. One on each side of a little wash. A tributary from the main canyon. We parked my Jeep on a pullover on the dirt road, and proceeded to head down into the canyon. It was 9-10 am. We hit the bottom of the canyon, and proceeded up the other side toward the columns. To our surprise, there was a small amount of water coming down this tributary, and there was a small waterfall, as a result of the ledge it came over, which was the same ledge the columns were on. We scaled the ledge, instead of going around, to insure we wouldnt lose the location of the columns. Once at the top, it was an awesome view, you could see the down into the canyon. The columns were directly in front of us up maybe about 25 yards. We moved up to them. They were about 7 foot tall rock cairns, about 15 yards across from each other, one on each side of the ledge at the top of the waterfall, with a base of about 3 feet diameter, rising to a point. Definately man made. Very old however, because the lichen had pretty much covered it. One thing to point out, as we approached, there was a weird humming sound, and the air seemed to be energized. This was a little weird, but didnt deter us. (I had seen all kinds of 'weird' in the Suprstition Mountians before this.) As we followed the small creek up through the pillars. Our ears got the 'pressure' feeling. Now, the fun begins. There we were, only 20 yards past the columns, static electricity every where, and only 40-45 yards up from the edge of the ledge. I turned around, and to my surprise, my Jeep was gone! I raised an alarm. My friends took notice. Not only was the Jeep gone, there was no road in site, that should have been visible for miles, because it wound its waydown the canyon. Nor was there the high tension power lines that run down the west side of Bull Dog Canyon! In fact, looking southward, the microwave tower on the southern ridge had also vanished. The mountians all looked the same, minus any development done by man. The sky looked a little odd, like the color wasnt right. We all agreed that the mine could wait, because we were curious of the location of our ride out of the mountians. We traveled back down the small tributary, back through the columns, down the to the bottom, where we found metates, numerous amounts of them. As if this was a grinding location for the indians of the past. We climbed back up the canyon wall toward the Jeep, and arriving at the top, were stunned by the fact, it was still there, along with the road, power lines, and microwave tower. The only odd thing, it seemed later in the day then our watches said. Now, after arriving at the first friends place, we got out to have our usual after hike b-b-q. When entering his home, and seeing the clock, we were shocked!!! Our watches, all of our watches, said around 2:15pm, the house clock said 615pm. I verified this when I got to my house, as well as calling information to verify. We all sat around that b-b-q, in silence and thought, wondering what happened to 4 hours of time, that we had not encountered (considering we were only beyond the columns for 15-20 minutes max.). So...our experience WAS physical. And don't ask me to explain, becuase I have no clue, and I'm not a physics major. We often wondered what would have happened if we had continued up that mountian, and gone out of site of the two columns. Because of its weirdness, and unexplainability, and the fear of what "could" happen, we all swore to never divulge were it is, or to go there again. We don't want to be responsible for someone disappearing (which happens all the time in those mountians). I have, however, sat in my Jeep, staring over at it, watching for some strange thing to happen, on many occasions. Just never had the will to risk it all for another adventure, that could turn bad. So, people, never under estimate what mother nature, or the unknown, can do. I no longer live in Arizona, but do miss my many, many adventures I had there. Maybe I'll return one day, to show where the many things I found are. (Or maybe I'll just write a book.)
